Financial Women of Japan Initiative as known as FWJI, was established in April 2017 by professionals working in the alternative investment industry to support Japanese financial female workers in various career stages.
We believe achieving gender parity in every career stage and the equal access to experience, information, education, salary, social insurance and career opportunities will strength development and competitiveness of Japanese Financial industry. In order to accomplish the goal, FWJI provides its members with opportunities for professional development and network.
In overseas, there are entities that have the same philosophy such as 100 Women in Finance. However, 100 Women in Finance’s activates across the world may not be fully applicable in Japan. As a result, FWJI will design programs that focuses on the unique issues that Japanese women face while incorporating global themes at the same time.
* The acronym FWJI is pronounced “FUJI” as in Mount Fuji. Just as we climb towards the top of Mount Fuji, the highest point in Japan, we collaboratively climb the career ladders together and nurture professional women who can succeed through competitive environment of the global financial industry.
